A 62-year-old man was severely injured after two dogs savagely mangled his arm on June 12.The doctors from Bergman Folkers Plastic Surgery who treated Thomas Krengel, who almost lost his right arm after dogs attacked him, said it is the worst dog bite that they have seen.
The attack happened on the north side of Des Moines when Krengel, who was staying on a friends’ house, was mauled when trying to get two copulating chow chows to go inside the house. The two dogs became agressive and attacked him after he tried to break them apart. The dogs mangled Krengel’s arm as he try to protect his throat.
Fortunately, doctors were able to preserve his arm.
