A man who was walking his dog was injured after he was attacked by a stray dog in the 2400 block of Crestview Drive, afternoon of March 24.
Bettendorf Police said the accident happened at around 3:30 p.m. when the man was attacked by a mixed breed Rottweiler and Pitbull. The man reportedly shielded his dog out of fear his dog might be harmed. The victim was rushed to Trinity Hospital in Bettendorf after the stray dog bit his face, where he sustained bites and punctures on his nose. The man’s dog, on the other hand, did not sustain any injuries in the reported attack.
Bettendorf Police said the stray dog is described to be brown or black in color, short-haired, and weighs about 75-80 pounds.
While it is unclear where this dog came from, many dog attacks that cause innocent people harm occur as a result of a negligent dog owner failing to secure their dog.
